Why do their beet chips vary in color?
Raw beets vary in color and darkness depending on the season they are grown. The low temperature dehydrates their beet chips, however, their process of dehydration amplifies the dark colors in the finished product. The darker shade of beet chips does not mean that the product is burnt.
Are the desiccant packets in their products harmful if accidentally ingested?
The desiccant packets are food grade and non-toxic, so they are not harmful to your health if they are accidentally ingested. The active ingredients are GRAS certified (generally recognized as safe) and help capture any moisture that may get into the package so that their products stay fresh and crunchy for you to enjoy.

A SIMPLE CONCEPT
Our journey began with a simple concept: when you need a snack, you deserve delicious, nutrient-dense options that are all-good for your body. We started experimenting with air-crisped Kale Chips in the kitchen of The Daily Juice, a little juice bar in Austin, Texas.
Our original products were so popular, we perfected our recipes and made our move to become the superfood snack innovator we are today. We’ve got multiple superfood snack lines and oodles of flavors to keep you in your groove. Our snacks are all good, not just “less bad” — we hope you’ll try them all!
What makes us Super?
Some folks throw the term ‘superfood’ around as a buzzword, but to us, it’s much more. It’s our name. It defines who we are, and what we offer — and it all begins with the nutrient density and integrity of our ingredients. They’re what make us super.
HAIL TO THE KALE
According to most nutritionists, this single fresh ingredient has more nutrition density than any other superfood. Find out how we harvest and handle the greatest of greens.
An excellent source of Vitamins A, C, and K, kale is rich in antioxidants, carotenoids, phytonutrients, and vital nutrients like calcium, manganese, copper, potassium, and fiber. Here’s how we handle the greatest of greens.
GOOD FROM THE START
We source kale from two to three regions in North America, depending on seasonal weather patterns. Since high heat can make kale bitter, we partner with kale growers in a variety of locations to ensure we get the sweetest, most consistent plants available. Most of our kale is grown in the Bajio region of central Mexico. This region is well known for its temperate climate, fertile soil, and adequate rainfall. In other words, it’s the perfect location to grow delicious vegetables that we use in our products year-round. This helps us maintain consistency in both the product that you consume and availability.
FROM GROWTH TO HARVEST
We purchase fresh, organic kale weekly! By the time it starts its long, low-temperature dehydration process in our kitchen, our fresh-picked kale has been de-stemmed, triple washed and is ready to be made into our crunchy delicious chips. Kale seeds are often sprouted in a greenhouse. Seedlings are transferred to perfectly spaced rows for a 60-90 day initial growth period. It’s a beautiful sight, these fields ‘o kale! After about 60 to 90 days (depending on the weather), kale is hand-picked in the field, loaded into small totes, and rushed to the triple wash station. The fresh-picked greens triple washed (washed, rinsed, and then rinsed again) all in high agitation flumes. Once dry, the Kale is bagged and put in reusable plastic crates and shipped to our dehydration kitchen.
FROM HARVEST TO SNACKFEST
Rather than frying, we create our crunchy Kale Chips by tossing fresh curly kale leaves in our hand-crafted blends of ground organic seeds, veggies, juices, herbs, and spices. Dressed to perfection, the kale is dehydrated under low heat for up to 14 hours to maximize the nutritional potency. Our Lacinato Kale leaves are roasted in a delicate high oleic sunflower oil and seasoned to perfection for a delicious taste and crunch – as if they are right from your own oven.
We partner with farmers to source kale that is certified organic in accordance with OCIA International, a USDA-accredited certifying agency approved to provide organic certification in accordance with the USDA’s National Organic Program.
