When Pacific Foods was founded they chose to do things differently from other food companies. They began with time-honored recipes using simple ingredients from growers they trusted, and they adopted sustainable practices to ensure kinder treatment of people, animals, and the planet. They make their foods from carefully sourced, simple ingredients to nourish families, their community, and the environment so a brighter world can begin to take shape.

In October of 1987, they opened their doors in Tualatin, Oregon and began as a co-packer making tofu and soy milk. Aseptic packaging allowed them to create other non-dairy beverages that didn’t require refrigeration, and people began to take notice of their brand. Within 10 years, they added free-range chicken, vegetable, and beef broths, followed by creamy and hearty soups, meals and sides.
Three decades later, they’ve held steadfast to their core values and continue to make nourishing foods with authenticity. As a business, they measure Pacific’s success by more than company profits. Their sense of achievement is also shaped by their impact on people and the planet.

That’s why they believe in making nourishing foods and strive to make them the way you would at home. They like using time-honored recipes and just a few simple ingredients, showcasing each ingredient’s true flavor and inherent nutrition. No additives or preservatives in their food. Shortcuts aren’t in their nature. They’ve never set their sights on making food faster, cheaper, or by using the fewest steps. They believe there’s a right way to doing things and it’s seldom the easiest way.

They’re committed to sourcing organic and as locally as possible, and they rely on trusted suppliers for quality and traceability. No GMOs here.
Since 1997, they’ve verified the origin of every ingredient they use through their Certified to the Source (CTS) program as a way to ensure quality. All of their ingredients – nearly 2,000 of them – are certified to the source. They purchase over 45 million pounds of Certified Organic ingredients annually- over 80% of their total ingredients purchased. And 33 of their products have been verified by the Non-GMO Project.
Keeping it real.
They support transparency in labeling, because they believe you have a right to know what’s in your food. You can be sure that every food that bears the Pacific name will be free of GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) also know as GEI’s (genetically engineered ingredients). They also source locally whenever possible and that every ingredient has a real purpose. They’ve never been big on shortcuts. Some might even call their slow cooking methods “old school.” Perhaps, but the way they see it, nature knows how foods should taste. They just try to follow her lead.
