This is just great! It’s super crunchy, but doesn’t break your teeth. The hemp and pumpkin seeds make me feel like I’m eating healthy. I don’t know how long this stuff has been around, but I wish I would have known about it earlier.

Hemp Makes it SUPER!

Hemp is a super seed packed with plant-based protein, healthy fats, and other vital nutrients like magnesium, fibre, zinc, and iron. In addition to food, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of uses for hemp including textiles like rope and clothing, construction material, plastics, fuel, animal bedding, and more. At Manitoba Harvest we’re focused on transforming people’s lives through the power of hemp!

Hemp Seed Nutrition

Why eat hemp foods? It’s simple: a delicious way to get your protein and omegas! Compared with chia and flax seeds, hemp seeds provide double the amount of protein, more omegas, and half of the carbohydrates per serving. This makes hemp seeds an ideal choice for people looking to try a Whole 30 compliant, paleo or keto lifestyle.

Experiencing the benefits of hemp is easy with our wide range of delicious and nutritional hemp foods! For those new to the transformational power of hemp, our hemp seeds are a great place to start.

These small, but mighty hemp seeds add a boost of nutrition to any meal!

Each serving (3 tablespoons) is packed with 10 grams of plant-based protein for a quick power boost.
With 12 grams of omegas 3 and 6 per serving, hemp seeds are a tasty and simple way to incorporate healthy fats at mealtime.
Their light, nutty flavor complements almost any dish for maximum versatility.
Our Natural and Organic Hemp Hearts also contain all 10 essential amino acids, making hemp foods a great source of complete protein for vegetarians, vegans and health seekers looking to add more plant-based foods to their diet. Can we get a hemp yeah!?

Hemp Seeds also contain:

  • Omega-3
  • Omega-6
  • Stearidonic acid (SDA)
  • Omega-6 Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA)*
  • Magnesium
  • Fibre
  • Iron
  • Zinc
  • Phosphorus

*What’s so great about GLA? Well, GLA has been shown to help with cholesterol, inflammation, skin and hair health, balancing hormones, and general heart health. One serving of hemp seeds contains 450 mg of GLA, while chia and flax seeds contain 0 mg.

Hemp Agronomy

Hemp is a versatile annual crop. Farmers plant non-GMO certified seed in the spring and harvest it in the fall using common farm equipment.

The varieties of hemp that are grown for food purposes reach a height of about five feet. Once hemp starts to grow, it has a broad leaf that helps to naturally suppress weeds which means that no pesticides or herbicides are needed to successfully grow hemp.
