Make it easy for people to find quality sustainable products options.
Reduce the negative impact that consumerism can have on people and the planet.
We wanted to find a way to make it easy for people to find quality sustainable product options, so people can shop knowing their purchases support better production systems for people and the planet.
A message from our team
While attending a sustainability class in Boston, a classmate asked the professor where sustainable product options could be purchased. The student wanted a place where they could at least support ‘better’ options after we had spent the semester learning about many of the social and environmental problems associated with consumerism. The professor said there was no central place to find sustainable product options and that people really needed to do their research before making purchases.
On our way home on The Green Line, a metro route in Boston, we couldn’t stop thinking about how shocking it was that there was no central place to find options – or a ‘green line’ of selection. There had to be a place to give people options, so we built The Green Line.

There are many manufacturers working hard to produce their products more sustainably. There are so many great products currently available and new ones coming to market. We want to become a central place that enables customers and producers to discover one another.
